When It All Goes Slightly Downhill

Tuesday 17 June 2008

Not to be all super-mopey-depressed or anything, but between our newly installed digital cable not working (It’s a very bizarre problem..everything seems to work okay except for the channels themselves. Like, I can clearly see that I’m changing the channels, and I can even access information about the program I’m supposedly watching..just no audio or visual), my Cobalt Flux randomly deciding to stop working completely (I suspect the grounding wire), plus the previously documented apartment issues, it hasn’t really been a good day.

On the plus side, Puzzle Quest is really fun, as is Gemsweeper, now that I don’t have to worry about my computer shutting itself off in the middle of the thing. I also have my own Internet service, finally, and even managed to secure the network so no one can hop on it the way I hopped on someone else’s for a week-plus.

That’s not to say I’m not driving a car that is nearly 20 years old, since my ‘89 Accord is still running strong. In my defense however, I did just buy a mountain bike that cost literally 2x as much as my car did (like my Dad, my philosophy is that if it works, you don’t need a new one. Though sometimes his philosophy is if it doesn’t work you still don’t need a new one).

I’ve been relatively lucky with my apartments and moves, no huge issues I can recall. I had one lousy place but that was more due to it being an interim apartment with creepy landlords.

Heh, it’s not actually that bad, just a lot of minor things that are pretty much fixed now. It’s beginning to actually feel like a home now, if that makes sense.
