Unga Bunga!

After entirely too much attention and dedication to it, I managed to get a run of Chuck Rock that I’m truly happy with–the entire game completed in roughly 11 minutes and 55 seconds. Hopefully, I can send that in to SDA soon and get it up for everyone to see.

Other than that, not too much has been going on here.

Congratulations, I think :) hehe– Chuck Rock is an awful game but it’s now YOUR trademark awful game! Is SDA the same as twin galaxies? I really want to send in my NES Skate or Die Freestyle ramp record– I regularly beat the world record posted on the site.

Heh. I suppose if I ever become “That Chuck Rock guy”, I’ll long for the days when I was “That Battletoads guy”…incidentally, Jess, who usually couldn’t care less about my speedrunning activities, was like “You totally should have taken that back!” when I informed her about my losing the Battletoads runs on SDA awhile back. I’m not sure what that says about how I’m linked to Battletoads for better or worse.

To answer your question, oh God no, they’re not the same at all. The main philosophical difference is that Twin Galaxies is more about the individual accomplishment (IE the person who executes the score/time/whatever), whereas SDA is more focused on the final product. The distinction is quite important.

Also, Nate of SDA can’t stand TG for reasons I’ve never quite understood (Essentially, he really doesn’t like said philosophical differences). Personally, I’d love to see some kind of TG/SDA alliance, but I’m also realistic enough to know that it’ll never happen.

Uh, I told you you should take that back. Be more competitive.
    That Battletoads run was AWESOME.
    But, I could just be biased. . . .

Seriously dude, you have to take your crown back. I know that pulling off the perfect run is hard to do but you can do it dude, this is your thing!
