Story
Musically, the song is very simple: What amounts to straight minor chords, going up in a somewhat weird scale (Major scale with a raised fourth), hence the song’s title. The riff seemed very dream-like to me, so I wrote lyrics that convey being in a dream-like state, and slowly rising and waking up to start a new day. With the benefit of four years of hindsight, I would probably not have dropped my voice an octave as quickly as I do here. Still, this was the first songwith vocals that I relistened to, and I was pleasantly surprised that it actually sounded okay.
