Story
Technically, the subtitle of this song is incorrect–it is neither lost (I knew where it was the whole time, anyway…), nor is it a DoD entry. The full story is that July of 2004 was Zelda month for DoD. So I started recording this song intending to submit it for that month.
On July 13th, 2004, I went to the doctor to follow up on a nagging cough I had had for several weeks. The result of this follow-up was a ten-day stay in the hospital and a diagnosis of T-Cell Lymphoblasic Lymphoma–in other words, I had cancer. Naturally, this put a bit of a damper on DoD submission plans, as well as resulting in more hospital stays over the next three months or so. Given that this page exists, you can guess that I wound up beating the cancer, as I’ve been in remission for close to three years now.
The production on this is absolutely terrible–it clips and distorts all over the place. Yet I didn’t about that at the time–just finishing the song with what I had been told was a major accomplishment. I kept meaning to go back and fix the production on it, but never actually did.
By the way, the song is the Dark World theme from A Link to the Past.
