So I apparently have an apartment come late May or early June. Even better, I apparently have the choice of a basement apartment, should I want it (This is good, as it means I can continue playing DDR without disturbing any poor people that may be below me. Also, it’s a bit cheaper, at the expense of a balcony). That’s really all I have tonight. It’s exciting and a bit scary at the same time. I mean, I’m not moving terribly far away from where I am now (It’s maybe 15 to 20 minutes, closer than I am now to both where I work now and any of two potential places I would go in the near future), but at some point I have to take stock of what I actually own, and clean out all the old video game magazines and the like.

Woo-hoo! Marc’s first apartment! If you can afford it, I’d suggest NOT going with the basement if you can help it. After a while, a lack of sunlight is bad for the soul (which is why I now I live in a third floor apt with lots of windows). But from a stromping/playing music standpoint I can see the logic. I’d go garden level if you can instead of basement– same sound insulating properties without the darkness.
Where is the place? In Cheshire? I bet your rent is cheaper than mine :)
ALSO: don’t throw away any old magazines or games or whatever yet! I’ll take them if you don’t want them.

Well, we would have actual windows where light would come in at points in the apartment, so it’s not like living in a prison or anything. It’s in Cheshire, and yeah, probably cheaper than yours. I was surprised at how reasonable it was, actually.
And yeah, I certainly wasn’t planning to just toss out the games or magazines! At worst, I figure I can sell them off or something, thus getting myself both money and room.
You go Marc (well, hopefully you don’t go TOO far). I’m glad for you. But two random thoughts: 1) it costs A LOT of money to set up an apartment just in getting things ‘for the first time’ and; 2) who will your Dad try to beat in Jeopardy now, when he’s not cheating at it?

I’m going about 20 minutes away (Hopefully; I don’t actually have the apartment yet, though the guy called me and made it sound like I was at least close…), which is not nearly as far as certain other relatives…
For setting up for the first time, I luckily have been pretty good with saving money in general, so I’m not really worried there. As for my dad and Jeopardy, well, it sure as heck won’t be my mom, she hates Jeopardy (As she will tell you at every opportunity)!
LOL. Jeopardy’s great. But as for Wheel? In the immortal words of your mom: “I HATE THAT SHOW!!!”
